Our first stop, Sunset Crater and Volcano Nat’l monument is located near Flagstaff, AZ. The volcano erupted approx 1100 AD creating 2 lava flows leaving lava fields and ash throughout 800 sq. miles.
Second stop, Wupatki Nat’l Monument is in the same area as Sunset Crater. The Pueblo’s (homes) were constructed 800 years ago by the Hopi Indians.
We are staying in Sedona tonight. It is beautiful here surrounded by red mountains.The kids arrived here safe and sound.
